00:01:28:04 - 00:01:49:19
Speaker 1
She's probably the most well known. So yeah. And to give us a little bit, how did you get involved? Yeah. So we, we have been a First Ladies National Historic Site since 2000 here in canton, Ohio. And we have always been, you know, good partners with the Chamber of Commerce and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And so this year, you know, they said to us, hey, you guys have done a lot with Jackie Kennedy.
00:01:49:19 - 00:02:10:22
Speaker 1
We had a big exhibit on her last year. So they said, how about you do a fashion show? you know, an event. And then Christine Peterson, who is with us today, also is one of our board members. And she, is a stylist and an expert in, styling and fashion. And she put together five amazing Jackie Kennedy looks to start the show today.
00:02:10:22 - 00:02:25:17
Speaker 1
So it's going to be so exciting. Yeah, I'm so excited. Well, thank you for joining us. Yours. Thanks. 00:02:59:07 - 00:03:20:00
Speaker 1
Can you introduce yourself? Yes, I would love to. I'm Lena, the midday diva. You can hear me live here on cue 92. And we are a part of all things enshrinement from the Balloon Classic to the game last night to the fashion show today. we've got the gold jacket. Dinner still to come? We've got enshrinement. And then, of course, we're wrapping things up with Carrie Underwood on Sunday.
00:03:20:00 - 00:03:33:13
Speaker 1
So we are very excited to share this with our listeners. And of course, we get to be a part of it as well. I love that, I love that. How did you get into radio? Oh my gosh. Well, back in college, I always said, I want my own talk show. I want my own talk show. How do I do this?
00:03:33:15 - 00:03:53:12
Speaker 1
And I never thought radio. I always thought television. but when I went to the University of Akron, they had a radio station, right there, College Station. And, I said, okay, this is how we're going to do it, I love it. So I was also on the radio, Rowan University in New Jersey, but I did not like I did not think I was going down this.
00:03:53:12 - 00:04:12:21
Speaker 1
I actually went into advertising, say, oh my gosh. And then after kids started the podcast and led with Cynthia and I doing this and yeah, I have a couple other podcasts as well, but it's so funny how like that. I can remember walking into the radio station being like, this is actually kind of cool, I love this. I always kind of wanted to do the television route like I see, like Oprah, sit down.
00:04:12:21 - 00:04:28:05
Speaker 1
My sister and I really wanted to have that same. So I love it. But you're still doing it. We're still interviewing. We're we're on video. Yes, we're doing it. Well, that's what now. I mean, that's how things are going now. So it's just really cool to see. Yeah. Yeah. That's why I always say stories connect us. So thank you guys so much for having me.
00:04:28:05 - 00:04:49:05
Speaker 1
And, I'm I'm ready for a wonderful day here to have a fashion show. Yeah, 100%. Well, thank you again for joining us live with NFL thread here. Live from the Hall of Fame. Canned Ohio, welcome back to iron is live with NFL thread. Here we have Crystal clinic plastic surgery that is the title sponsor here. Every year we've had the doctor's on and we have a new guest from the practice which I'm really excited about.
00:04:49:11 - 00:05:03:12
Speaker 1
So I'm just I'm going to have you pronounce your name because my guests know that I am terrible at pronouncing names. And we're. So we're going to have you introduce yourself, please. Hi everyone. My name is shade. I'm here. Gary. I'm one of the plastic surgeons at Crystal clinic. Plastic surgery. So I would love a little bit this.
00:05:03:13 - 00:05:17:22
Speaker 1
Is this your first event here? You know what? I came here the first year that we were here, that we were part of it. and I think it was like four years ago. Okay. I think that was like four years ago. Yeah. So, yeah, this. But it's been a while, so I'm excited to be here together. Yeah.
00:05:17:22 - 00:05:33:10
Speaker 1
Well, it's nice to me. I know that you guys do some really amazing things. I know when I met Doctor Cody and Doctor Dialers, one of the things that I thought was pretty cool about your practice is, yes, you do things to make people feel better, but then you're also doing some really amazing things for, I mean, reconstruction after breast surgery and stuff.
00:05:33:10 - 00:05:54:07
Speaker 1
Can you tell us a little bit about that and how you got involved or what your kind of role in, practices? Yeah. So, when everybody thinks about plastic surgery, I think we just kind of think about what we see on TV. but there is a huge breadth and variety of what we do. And one of the things that I think all of us in our practice are very passionate about is breast cancer reconstruction.
00:05:54:07 - 00:06:16:00
Speaker 1
So that's for women that have been diagnosed with breast cancer and maybe having surgery or a new breast cancer. We're usually there to help the breast surgeon and help the patient, kind of come out of that journey with feeling, you know, restored and, and whatever that may be that's required to, to help them kind of. Okay.
00:06:16:04 - 00:06:38:02
Speaker 1
And how does a little bit I know I'm sure we could talk a long time, but how did you get into plastic surgery? What led you to, so I, I, I went into general surgery, actually, but I was, student, and, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing plastic surgeons. They brought me in some of their cases, and I was pretty naive to what was out there.
00:06:38:02 - 00:06:52:22
Speaker 1
And then after working with them, I was like, wow, these guys do is just awesome and really cool. And I want to do that. I want to be that guy. So yeah, well, thank you. And thank you so much for joining us live with NFL thread here at the Hall of Fame. And you know what you guys are doing.
00:06:52:22 - 00:07:08:18
Speaker 1
And I love how you're connecting with the Hall of Fame and really, you know, building your practice but also through stories. Stories connect us. So thank you again. Thank you so much for having me. Take care. So welcome back to find us live with NFL threat here live at the Hall of Fame. Doctor Lewis Davis. And I nailed it the first time.
00:07:08:18 - 00:07:24:10
Speaker 1
I don't always do that. But welcome back to line of five for them. All right. Well thank you very much for having me in this fine Friday. And when right when I'm at here from Ohio at canton Ohio. Yes. Yes, I'm from Akron. Well, and I, you know, I know last year we got to talk to you a little bit.
00:07:24:10 - 00:07:43:00
Speaker 1
I know the last couple of years, Doctor Cody has also been here, but so in this last year, has there been anything that has changed that you are really excited to kind of share about? I know before it was a lot of the reconstruction with breast surgery, but has there been any cases that stand out in your mind that you're like, you know what, this was so important to me.
00:07:43:00 - 00:08:01:18
Speaker 1
I can't wait to share it. I wouldn't have the same case. In particular, I really want to focus on what we're doing overall, and it's it the way this, and then once a year it's called the Pink Run. Yes, I love that. And at that event, we really get to showcase all of our patients and have done so well.
00:08:01:18 - 00:08:26:17
Speaker 1
After the breast reconstruction, you get to see the final stages. Cancer was gone. The reconstructed there happened to feel complete. And just that event itself gives you so much pleasure just as the healing part of their journey. And I think that's innovation. That's not some innovation going on right this minute. And plastics. But yeah, part of just being able to have a patient feel so much better about themselves.
00:08:26:18 - 00:08:45:10
Speaker 1
Again, you can't be right. That's amazing. That is amazing. And again, I think it's awesome that you guys partner here and that you come, you know, as the title sponsor and you support this event because I mean it makes sense, right? There's so many women I actually just had, my my guests are going to know, I just had my yearly mammogram and I have to go back.
00:08:45:10 - 00:09:11:07
Speaker 1
Everything's going to be fine, but it's like it's the stress. It's of that extra mammogram and it doesn't happen right away. You have to schedule, you have to wait. And then it's way for the results. It's very stressful. Right. And so having a practice like yourselves that you guys, this is what you're passionate about really can help. You know someone that like myself that's going through like okay, what you know, being able to talk to someone or being able to see like, okay, you guys have them.
00:09:11:07 - 00:09:31:12
Speaker 1
These are the things that you've done in the past for women. You're able to help them. The hardest thing too, about being a patient is the patient, you know, not to say that they only have the knowledge. It's not ignorance. They just don't have the knowledge of what to do or even who to go to. They have to trust who they're being referred to and that's hard sometimes because again, they really don't have it now.
00:09:31:12 - 00:09:47:12
Speaker 1
So again, I think being a partner here makes more people aware that we're out there for the patient to do the research, to see. You know, I just want you to go to who I'm referred to. I need to see who is an expert in these in this field. And I think this so just is more visibility to that.
00:09:47:12 - 00:10:02:20
Speaker 1
You know, there's other options out there for you know, and it's really important because as you said like and we talked about this last time, you know, when you think of a plastic surgeon, you think of Botox or, you know, you think of all these different things and there's so much fraud. Yes, there's that out there, but there's so many other broad things for the reconstructive side is so important as well.
00:10:02:21 - 00:10:24:15
Speaker 1
Yes. Well, Doctor Dior's again, thank you so much for joining us live with NFL threat here, live from canton, Ohio, the Hall of Fame. Yes. Thank you again. Thank you very much. Take care. So welcome back to watching us live with NFL threat guys I'm here Waterloo 21 seeds Crystal clinic. is that the title sponsor here. And we have someone that's involved in the fashion show.
00:10:24:15 - 00:10:44:19
Speaker 1
So Christine Christine Peterson okay, I have you bring your microphone a little bit closer here. You know, give us a little background on who you are, what you're doing here. well, I'm actually a board member for the National First Lady's Library and Museum, and I am also a fashion stylist, so I always say I'm kind of card carrying that.
00:10:44:21 - 00:11:11:21
Speaker 1
I graduate from Kent State University in the 80s, and I have a business and stylist and I make outfits. Oh, I love that. Yes. Okay, so in everything we do is pre sourced, about 90% of what we do for our clients is pre sourced. So this is a perfect fit today because the Jacqueline Kennedy Collection coming off of the big thing with Monte Durham and the dress that we showed for you know, the launch was in April of last year.
00:11:11:23 - 00:11:32:18
Speaker 1
that just came to a close. But everybody still wants Jackie, right? So we are still, celebrating her and we never will stop. I think she so I she is she is really is I mean, there's so much there. So tell people first where they can find you. Oh, well, you can find me. Actually, I'm opening a shop, but it's not open yet.
00:11:32:19 - 00:11:49:23
Speaker 1
Okay, but just stay tuned. I would say stay tuned and you'll find Christine Peterson. You'll be able to find me, Christine. So that's what I kind of go under is my name from styling. I'm sure I love it. And how did you get involved in then today? Well, okay, so I'm on the board and Patty is and Michelle are very dear friends.
00:11:49:23 - 00:12:11:07
Speaker 1
They become very dear friends of mine as well. And when they asked us to do something, they said, would you like to be in a fashion show? And Michelle and I started kicking around the idea of luxe. And Jackie was so iconic, and people remember that pink and black suit that she was wearing. And yes, I thought, we need to show the happy side of Jackie today.
00:12:11:07 - 00:12:32:06
Speaker 1
We're going to show the happy side. So these are all the times. And she was smiling and she had love that. rapport with the crowd around it. the time when she was an editor in New York, you'll see her in a yellow dress. That was very. Jackie loved the color yellow. And that's a very, kind of a Chanel looking dress.
00:12:32:08 - 00:12:56:16
Speaker 1
she wore scarves. She loved Gucci. There's a good teacher. but there's also the Hermes scarf that she was wearing the day, that she bought the paparazzi and before she left the courthouse. that's the famous colorway, the astrology scarf. Saw that? Wow. Yeah, yeah. So we actually have it. It's here. And it's not the actual scarf, but the scarf.
00:12:56:16 - 00:13:15:02
Speaker 1
Another issue of it. And it'll be in the show today. Wonderful. I know, and then there's actually a gown, that she wore to state dinner that I created today. I made myself. So I design. Yeah style as well. So this is a really fun event for you. Yes. Oh my gosh, I said fabulous. Like to thank you so much for doing this for us.
00:13:15:02 - 00:13:33:16
Speaker 1
Guys like you don't understand. I do this in my sleep, right? Right. I'm known I just make out. That's right I love that. Yeah. Right. Right. Oh that's amazing. Well, thank you so much again for joining us. Thank you so much. And it's, a great day for the lives of the NFL right here to celebrate the wives of the NFL, the wives of the United States of America.
00:13:33:20 - 00:13:52:04
Speaker 1

Speaker 1
Thank you. Thanks for having me. Can you introduce yourself. I know I'm just getting ladies for that haven't you guys. That's fine. That's fine. So I'm Krista Allison, and this is my hometown, Stark County, and I come to Enshrinement Week. Thank you. Yeah, that's a great time. Yes, it's a great weekend. So the pass you show us today, and I would say hundreds and hundreds of people are here.
00:14:15:00 - 00:14:34:15
Speaker 1
Beautiful women coming in, excited to see fabulous fashions from all over. I'm one of the models today. Honored to be here and to do show. Yeah. I'm like, yeah, I'm supposed to be backstage before. So I mean, everything look gorgeous. Thank you. So it's it's super exciting to be here. Can you tell us any of the outfits that you're going to wear?
00:14:34:17 - 00:14:55:12
Speaker 1
all great outfits, all beautiful. It's all outfits that you will want to go by. Definitely. You will want to go buy them. some from our boutiques, some from our various malls. But what I will tell you is, is they are the latest fashion show. You're going to love the show. You're going to love the show. And people are going to say, where do I get this outfit from?
00:14:55:16 - 00:15:19:13
Speaker 1
Oh, all right, we'll do it. Do you want us to pose or not? Pose. because you did a picture already. It's all right. It's like I'm going to do, like, this pose. Yeah, well, thank you for joining us live with NFL thread, and I can't wait to see what. Thank you so much for being here today. And I got to tell you, in our city, I just have to say, yeah, shout out to all of our volunteers, amazing volunteers.
00:15:19:13 - 00:15:35:06
Speaker 1
They are they come here and many of them, they take their dates off to support our city. So we have an amazing set of volunteers who've mobilized in our city to make this happen. So a huge shout out to them. But enjoy the show. Yeah. Enjoy the show. And I do want to say one thing. I mean, it really is.
00:15:35:12 - 00:15:52:06
Speaker 1
Any time I'm here, I'm like, these are the nicest people. I mean, so nice. What can I do? What can I help you in? And you can this event just is. And it always runs because I come in yesterday. So I kind of see like behind the scenes and. Yes. And it is it's just everyone all hands on deck.
00:15:52:06 - 00:16:12:03
Speaker 1
Right. Everyone knows what they need to do and they really, truly love this event. They love being here. It is. And you know, it extends even beyond this weekend and the buildup of it. You know, one of the things that I believe it's always about community and the fact is, is that that's what you'll see here. And so this weekend it's welcoming for everyone.
00:16:12:03 - 00:16:33:00
Speaker 1
It's about bringing people together, having a good time and just enjoying and fellowshipping with one another. Yes. Well, thank you so much for joining us live with NFL Brett here live again at the Hall of Fame. And I can't wait to watch you. All right. Thanks. Thank you, thank you, thank you. So one of the other things that I love about this thread event and being a part of it is threads of all these different events.
00:16:33:00 - 00:17:00:05
Speaker 1
So I'm going to show you this here and I'm going to read it. So on Thursday, August 8th at 11 a.m. to noon, UBS is doing a live webinar hosted by thread. And it's going to be giving just just financial help for the members. So if you guys want to be a part of it, if you have if this is if you're seeing this after, you can also go and go to thread.com to find the information out.
00:17:00:05 - 00:17:34:16
Speaker 1
Again. It's your time to own your worth. UBS and thread partnering to do the the webinar on the eighth 1211 to 12. We have the lady herself miss this thread. And you know what I love that this is like well look it's like right there. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. So I'm so it's perfect okay. So welcome. Thank you my darling Cynthia I mean we could feel the energy already I know I'm glad we could sit down early because we usually never do this.
00:17:34:16 - 00:17:53:06
Speaker 1
Yeah. And usually I'm running around like. And then I sit down pre-wired. So I'm glad to be relaxed. And then watching all the women walk in all the beautiful Hall of Fame women, which is a group within the group. You know, they're just really incredibly tight. because we've made this journey together to the Hall of Fame. So yeah, it's really awesome.
00:17:53:06 - 00:18:11:03
Speaker 1
I mean, you have your thread bags here. We have the gift. Yes. Waterloo and 21 seeds. Yes. Supporting thread. Yeah. you know, she's coming on next. Yes. You're coming on next issue. yes. Yes, yes. And as everyone coming in but you again you always do such an amazing job. Thank you. I love seeing you. You know like what Cynthia have next.
00:18:11:03 - 00:18:26:20
Speaker 1
And Brad thank you. Yeah. With the webinar coming up with UBS on the eighth from 11 to 12. Yeah. That's a nice little thing. That's a nice project. UBS of course, has been my friends and partners since, volume one of the playbook, which is my baby, which is really the catalyst of everything that I love to do.
00:18:26:21 - 00:18:58:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. You know, so even just having a conversation with you, Tomlin, about thread and about other opportunities that are out there, our friends are women. A lot of the young girls are really starting things and moving things. And I that's what I love about it most, is that it's to promote what everybody's doing. And even if it's other platforms and things, other organizations and groups have this resources just so we can act and grow and being with you and the podcast and tell those stories and introduce to the about family what women are doing.
00:18:58:00 - 00:19:15:22
Speaker 1
It means a lot to me. Yes, it's I wonderful again. And you can start feeling everyone coming in. Yeah. There's, cocktails being made over there. Yeah, sure. I mean, I love Waterloo, Waterloo sparkling water there. So cool. It's like water down. Nothing. Yeah. Which is I think I think I we really don't to think like that. We do.
00:19:16:00 - 00:19:46:11
Speaker 1
But also the people their team is just incredible. And meeting Maryland's at Penn Stater and connecting with her and watching like our partnership grow 21 seeds infused tequila, beautiful relationship partnership. So it's it's really fun, but it's also the people. Like, I was just talking to you, Dana Harris. Frank is on the cover of the paper. We're looking at that, looking at her, talking about what she's doing, and she's doing a lot of exciting things with Penn State.
00:19:46:11 - 00:20:03:06
Speaker 1
So I'm really like, I love talking to her on that level. So I, you know, I just feel like, I don't know, it's women do so many things that people don't know. So that's why we started that. I mean, when we start, I said to you, wait a second, what do you mean? There's after feeling all these different things, and then when you said that and you're like.
00:20:03:06 - 00:20:21:00
Speaker 1
And then the playbook, I. And that's why we collaborated on this. Because it's like giving the voice to everything that you guys are doing. Everything and everybody. I mean, there's you know, being with off the field and I hope Theresa's is here today being the president of that. This has been a real privilege and honor of mine.
00:20:21:02 - 00:20:39:00
Speaker 1
And, we have elections coming up next month. So we'll be bringing in a new president of this president, which will be still very busy and wonderful. But it's also like, you're right, other groups that are growing and other young girls that are seeing that important connection. So if we had anything to do with that, that makes me really happy.
00:20:39:00 - 00:20:56:16
Speaker 1
Yes. You know, I love doing this within. I love our time together. Yes. You know, connecting and just even like, aside from that, it's awesome. So I was over at the bar and the girls at 21 says, just talking about your jeans from yesterday. You haven't shared that link. I know, I just I love your line. Okay. Bye.
00:20:56:16 - 00:21:12:08
Speaker 1
Thank you. Dana Harris, how are you? Good. Thank you. Okay. Okay. Good. You're right. You're in frame you. You're you're a natural at that. Okay. So tell us a little bit about what this event means to you. The fashion show. You know, I have to say, it has come such a long way from when we first did it.
00:21:12:10 - 00:21:27:07
Speaker 1
And they're doing a beautiful job. They got a pop up shop, so the girls have a chance to look around. But just gorgeous it is. And everybody's mingling. So it's really it means a lot that they go out of their way to do this for us. Right? Right. And how did you get involved? not how did you get involved?
00:21:27:07 - 00:21:57:14
Speaker 1
I know, I know how why how you got involved. that's not come out so, so so how like why there's all of you live. There's people that are involved. But what made you want to do what you're doing in the position you're doing for all you know, it's a very, very special I don't want to say club, but these guys are special and anything we can do, I and I made the comment this morning when Franco got in one of the guys, we were in a cow pasture.
00:21:57:20 - 00:22:13:17
Speaker 1
Right. So what they're doing now and how far they brought this is phenomenal, right? And if we can help, we'll do that. Right? I mean, and that's and that's what I meant. Like, you are who you are. But sometimes people want to stay behind the scenes a little bit. Right. Some of them go more forward. So your personality being like, you know what?
00:22:13:22 - 00:22:29:19
Speaker 1
This is what I want to do. I mean, the fact that, you know, Franco on the playbook, the cover of that. Oh, that was so gorgeous. I mean, I know I that was that off. I mean, I think that it was it was tough. It was so beautiful. And it really, a lot of my friends had tears, you know.
00:22:29:20 - 00:22:46:10
Speaker 1
Oh, I did tons of tears. I mean, it was just. And also the timing of it. Yeah. The timing. I mean, it surprised me when I set, you know, you know, and, and it was cute because I, I had my back to school of them. I took every everyone that wasn't being taken, I took, yeah, of course, but it was.
00:22:46:10 - 00:23:04:06
Speaker 1
Yeah. It was lovely. Yes. And you know, and again, it's I think it's a beautiful testament. You've been through, you've had life. You, you know, where your husband was, where his story in such a gorgeous way. And then the fact that you've been a part of his story and then you're living on and keeping his name even though it always shall be there.
00:23:04:12 - 00:23:24:05
Speaker 1
But now you're shining even bigger lights on on because he. I think anyone you ask Franco is a very special person. You know, he could light up a room anytime you walked in, right? So you don't have any. You're only fond memories and sweet memories and, And the girls here just support him as we do each other, you know, which is.
00:23:24:06 - 00:23:43:22
Speaker 1
I mean, and it is a club. yeah. And it's and it's a rightfully so. And but the one of the things is it's a club, but you also welcome others to be able to hear your stories and share what it means to you. And that's what I love so much about being able to be here with us, live with NFL thread and, you know, your relationship with Cynthia.
00:23:43:22 - 00:24:04:00

00:25:27:05 - 00:25:45:06
Speaker 1
Okay. Oh, you're so sweet. But seriously, I mean this. You guys are so welcoming, and you all love seeing each other. That's what I love, too. When you see each other, it's like a reunion. It brings you back, you know? You know, I debate sometimes. I go sit at my desk and then and start thinking about what happens when I get here.
00:25:45:07 - 00:26:05:03
Speaker 1
I mean, it's a new world for me. I just enjoy it. I travel all over the place, even way back to Dubai and all summer. But come in here and see in these latest. It's just such a warm and fuzzy feeling that I guess I can keep coming till I can walk in the right foot and someone's going to push you because you're you'll be.

I see you, however I want to ask you yes, you just performs with Pat Benatar. So like can you please take us through that? Sure. So last weekend in Pittsburgh at Celebrity Care Fest, which is a wonderful, annual festival that our friends in the Hansons put on and, it benefited the children's hospital this year.
00:26:52:03 - 00:27:09:09
Speaker 1
And that's a cause near and dear to his heart, her husband, Neil Giraldo. So I was asked to open for them, and it was, everything that you would think it would be because you. It's been such an influence on me, you know, since I was a little kid. And, I got to meet her. I got a shout out from the stage from her.
00:27:09:09 - 00:27:25:03
Speaker 1
It was, It was pretty special, I. So. Yeah. No pressure. No pressure. Yeah. Right. Right, right. Exactly. Oh, my gosh, I mean again. And so we met. What was it three years ago. Just one year ago. Stopped one year ago at this event we met. I was just last year. I feel like we've been best friends forever.
00:27:25:03 - 00:27:42:05
Speaker 1
I know actually, that's actually so true. I was like, no, it's been four years. Oh yeah, that's crazy. It is, it is. So I got to see Queen. I mean, I got to see you live in New York. I brought my husband. That's right. You did? Yeah. You did. That was so fun. And then we've seen each other another time.
00:27:42:05 - 00:28:00:00
Speaker 1
Super Bowl. Yes, it was Super Bowl. Thank you. Yeah, yeah. We're on our podcast zooms. Yeah I think so. And that I was like no it's been raining. Are we related. We I feel like we look like yeah we actually do. Right I mean but I mean both of us, I love just getting together with you. I love hearing what you're doing.
00:28:00:00 - 00:28:18:19
Speaker 1
Thank you. your heart, but also the stories. The depth of you is one of my favorite things. Like with your songs. I told you there's songs that that you've done that I like play over my head and I'm like, oh, I love it. I can picture it, especially the New York Times. but tell us again, like what this event means to you?
00:28:18:21 - 00:28:36:03
Speaker 1
well, this fashion show luncheon is, is very new for me. being a little bit new to the NFL world, relatively speaking, to, you know, some of the other ladies here, it's just a great chance to get together and dress up, have some fun. there's always some great sponsorships and, you know, new products and things to learn about.
00:28:36:08 - 00:29:00:06
Speaker 1
But it's really for me personally, and I know a lot of the other ladies feel this way, too, showing up for the people of canton, who I mean, the whole city gets galvanized by this Hall of Fame week and they show up and they volunteer. I think there's something like 4000 volunteers every year, something like that. So I feel like the least we can do is show up, appreciate the event, attend support and all that.
00:29:00:06 - 00:29:16:07
Speaker 1
And it's just it's always, you know, yeah, second year in a row, but it's always a blast. But they're also that like I was saying to someone before that it's really everyone so nice. They are like so nice. Like yesterday we come and we start setting up. Yeah. And it's I mean, all hands on deck. What can I do?
00:29:16:07 - 00:29:32:02
Speaker 1
What can I help you with? Everyone is just really like they they love their city. Yeah. And they love this event. And it's really, really it's obvious and it's wonderful and it's great that you guys come with the energy, like the lives that come with the energy and and the love. I mean, you feel the love and the energy when you're here.
00:29:32:02 - 00:29:49:20
Speaker 1
Well, yes, we feel it from the people from the city of canton. And we just want to give it right back. This morning, a group of us took a little walk around like we went for a walk this morning in the morning, and we walked actually, the parade route, you know, on foot. there were some cars honking at us right.
00:29:49:22 - 00:30:10:20
Speaker 1
But even, you know, all the security, everybody who's showing up, you know, in the streets there, everybody was very nice, very supportive. And, it's just always a great couple of days here. So. Yeah, I love that and much respect and kudos to all the work that you do. Thank you. With all the all the different things, all the things, all of this.
00:30:10:20 - 00:30:27:17
Speaker 1
But, I appreciate a pleasure to follow you and see what you guys are up to and to do with that as well. So yeah, much, much respect. I so appreciate it. It's always great to see you too. I do have a question. Yeah. So do you ever get confused with thread and threads like, you know, the social media platform and Instagram has.
00:30:27:18 - 00:30:43:09
Speaker 1
No no okay. No. Yeah. It's sort of like Delta Force. It's Delta Airlines right. We just know they're different okay. Yeah I love that I actually but no no I don't okay. Why do people get confused there. It's been there's been some people that have. And so she's like I want to do a little poll to see if it's more than that.
00:30:43:09 - 00:31:07:00
Speaker 1
Yeah okay. Yes, yes. Thank you. Confusion okay. Good. Great talk to you. Oh I got to do my dog. So good to see you. Hi. good. Linda brown. Yeah, I remember you back last year, and we had such a great discussion. We truly enjoyed myself. I was back home. I said, you wouldn't believe this. I was in Elkhart.
00:31:07:01 - 00:31:34:19
Speaker 1
They say you just. And you were wonderful. I loved you. So again, I'm going to have you introduce yourself. Okay. I'm ready. We're ready. Yes. Hi, everyone. My name is Linda Brown. I'm the wife and widow of Roosevelt Brand. We went into the fall in 1975. I love that, and I love it. I know, I know that this event means so much to carry on his name, to be with the ladies.
00:31:34:22 - 00:31:56:16
Speaker 1
So tell us a little bit about that. Well, I always enjoy coming back. Oh, let me tell you, this is my 49th year. Wow. You listen to that. Feel like I look at this. You look, man, this is my 49th year that everything's good. And I just got some good news from the New York Giants. Yeah, you know, they listen to me, players of the year.
00:31:56:17 - 00:32:22:13
Speaker 1
Yeah. My husband came in as number two. And you know that I'm a New Yorker. I know, you know, we. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's number two. what's happening is that the Giants are trying to celebrate him and the other players that make this special. I said fraternity years. And, September 6th, seven and eight will be a Giants stadium for three.
00:32:22:15 - 00:32:47:07
Speaker 1
Amazing. But ever with all the, with all the accolades and everything that's going to be. That is amazing. I was when when, hurricanes and hurricanes. One of the tell me this. Okay. It's. Well, I've been surprised, I don't know. We have a very good job here. Hey, John. Married in town and championships. Miss Brown, I'm going to tell you, she came in number ten and 100 men.
00:32:47:09 - 00:33:08:21
Speaker 1
You know that? And I said, oh, my God, my heart is beating so good. So tears came to my eyes. I said, oh my God, I, I said, Rosie, I knew you were good, but I didn't know you were that good. I love that so and I just wanted to get that across to you. I took seventh and it is amazing.
00:33:08:23 - 00:33:31:05
Speaker 1
Amazing. Yeah. Yeah. We're so we're still picking us up, so we're good. Okay. Oh, my God, I'm so happy. Yeah. So, I'm excited. Like the kids are excited, and, we're just waiting for the sign because, you know. So I said, okay, they said this in the spring. You know, I said, I'm excited. This is what you should be jumping up for joy tonight.
00:33:31:07 - 00:33:51:17
Speaker 1
You know who you marry to. I said, I said, you know, that's incredible. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Well, thank you so much for joining us. So nice to see you here and out. I'm like I said, it's his 49th year. Next year will be his fifth year anniversary year. And I. You. Yeah. Really? I'll see you there, guys.
00:33:51:22 - 00:34:19:22
Speaker 1
So good to see you. Take care. Enjoy. Welcome back to Windows Live with NFL thread. We are here live at the Hall of Fame. The thread podcast minus five with NFL thread but also at the Hall of Fame luncheon. So Kim please you microphone off because it's loud in here. Please introduce yourself. Hi, I'm Kim Davenport. I am the 2024 chairperson general chairperson of the Enshrinement Festival I love that okay, so how did you get involved in that?
00:34:20:03 - 00:34:44:12
Speaker 1
Oh, wow. well, you have you are asked to first be the vice chair, so. Okay. Next, your last year and so that then which me as chair this year. But this is my 21st year of volunteering for the Asian Festival. Wow. And I was saying with everyone, when you walk into this event, you can I mean, when you literally drive into canton, you can feel the energy, you can feel the love.
00:34:44:17 - 00:34:58:21
Speaker 1
You can feel the respect, you can feel the honor that you guys have. So, I mean, I think that it's every single volunteer. Cynthia and I were here yesterday getting set up. I mean, it's all hands on deck. Oh, yeah. You turned out. And how can I help you? What can I do, man? I mean, it is so.
00:34:58:21 - 00:35:21:12
Speaker 1
But they're also excited and happy. Everyone is happy to be a part of it because it means so much. It does. You know, we have 2500 plus volunteers to help us put, put together 18, events over the course of the festival. And, they look forward to doing it every year just from labor love. Yeah. A lot of our volunteers take vacation to do this.
00:35:21:15 - 00:35:40:16
Speaker 1
Yes. So we look forward when you all come to town. It's exciting. It is. And expose lots of people to cancer and and then, gives us an opportunity to just love you and make you feel that it is. Well, yeah. Awesome job once again. I mean, it really is. Show everyone your. Look at this. Oh, yeah.
00:35:40:16 - 00:36:01:08
Speaker 1
Look at that. That's beautiful I love it. I said oh I that this is the right place. This is the right book. Use credit cards. Well Kim, thank you so much for joining us live with NFL threat here live at the Hall of Fame luncheon. Thank you. Take care. Pleasure. Thank you. Welcome back to live with NFL threat here live at canton I mean one of our favorite guests.
00:36:01:08 - 00:36:23:04
Speaker 1
Please introduce yourself. And I can't wait to get into the book and all the things that you're doing. Oh, Lisa Atwater and I am the wife of Steve Atwater and Pro Football Hall of Famer year 2020. and just so thankful and blessed to be here. Yeah. And, please take us through, because I know you do a lot of really amazing work with mental health.
00:36:23:06 - 00:36:42:13
Speaker 1
So if you can take us through some of that journey a little bit and then your new year, I mean, your newest blessing to the world that you're doing with your ball. Oh, so I am a licensed professional counselor, addictions counselor and marriage and family therapy. And I also use, like, a lot of other modalities of therapy.
00:36:42:13 - 00:37:10:18
Speaker 1
So like play therapy, art therapy, and play therapy because everybody doesn't want to just talk like are other ways of like feeling emotions. So that's been really impactful, which is how also the book comes into play, because just teaching people here are great coping skills. Yes, great ways of like calming yourself. And if you learned coping skills and early as how much better off we be as adults.
00:37:10:18 - 00:37:26:23
Speaker 1
You know we're teaching our kids the way to calm themselves, regulate right when they're young. I mean, and it's it's all about the understanding. So tell us, I think the book comes out today. Today. Right. Yes. Yeah. So this has been probably going to be afternoons but you'll be able to get the ball. Yes. so please tell us your name and where people can find us.
00:37:26:23 - 00:37:48:20
Speaker 1
So is football pretty and the dog game day in Denver and Marnie, Snyder and I wrote this one together. She's amazing. and there be, like, links everywhere. All over social media. Everywhere. I think the preorder link is out now. Okay, so where can you find that? Like, where can they follow you? Well, Marnie. Marnie. Okay. Yeah, yeah.
00:37:48:21 - 00:38:10:06
Speaker 1
Everything with Marnie. Because, just as a therapist, I you to do. Yeah. And I totally understand and respect that. Yeah. I need to change that one day, but right now. No, no, it serves you right. And that's the thing. What you're doing, you need to do what you're doing. And as you said, you partner with people that maybe have a different social media platform, that you can also get your message because it's such an important message.
00:38:10:06 - 00:38:29:19
Speaker 1
Absolutely. And I mean, I know you've done a lot of stuff with mental health. also the league and so many different things because it is now talked about more, it's still, I don't think, talked about enough. I don't still think there's enough understanding. So the fact that you're out there doing it, I think is, you know, is, is that, I mean, a tribute to who you are.
00:38:29:20 - 00:38:53:19
Speaker 1
Oh, and your heart and know that absolutely, absolutely. There there's definitely not enough, breaking of the stigma yet. Testing for men. Yes, yes. So that's like another subgroup, like culturally, for men, it's not. It's not a thing. And so we're getting there. We're getting there. We have the whole thing out talking about it. The message is okay not to be okay.
00:38:53:21 - 00:39:16:05
Speaker 1
It's kind of really spreading. So I'm a lover of it. Well, thank you so much once again for joining us live with NFL right here. Oh thank you. Welcome back to this live with NFL thread here live at the Hall of Fame. My wonderful guest Angela Hoff. Yeah. And we met at the Super Bowl very briefly at the fashion show.
00:39:16:05 - 00:39:34:10
Speaker 1
Yeah. And so I know you guys are doing some, you know, just you do amazing things out in the world. I mean, have you bring your microphone a little bit, but so if you can take us through what you are doing here, I know what you're doing it, but, you know, like, why this event is so important to you to be with the ladies and everything.
00:39:34:12 - 00:40:03:01
Speaker 1
Well, okay. My husband Fred, pull it off. He worked for the Oakland Raiders. He was inducted in 1988. Yes. And to have ladies here supporting each other is a really wonderful thing. I want to thank women's off the field program. They. I was honored with the impact Award. Yes. Women's impact award, which is huge, for them because they are a national recognized organization, along with the foundation.
00:40:03:03 - 00:40:43:05
Speaker 1
So what the foundation does, with the support of all these women in the room, we, are creating a first of its kind, a campus for human trafficking victims from the ages of 10 to 18. it's a $30 million project that we're still raising funds for. it will have a creative school. It will house 60 girls, and at one time, we will have a counseling center that will be named the political Center of Hope will name one of the 50 500 square foot homes after our daughter Tracy Political, who died brutally, by domestic violence.
00:40:43:06 - 00:41:11:04
Speaker 1
due to drugs and alcohol, not by her, but by her person that victimized her. Right? it's going to be called Tracy's place of hope. Oh. That's beautiful. We are very excited to move forward and continue our, our path, our our growth. Yes. always continuing forward to step forward with, helping our community and internationally.
00:41:11:06 - 00:41:29:18
Speaker 1
These women here are absolutely gorgeous and wonderful and powerful. Yes. And I love how we empower each other. You do. And, you know, and I always say the love and the energy and just, every event that I am with, with NFL women is always you can just feel the respect and the love that you guys have for each other.
00:41:30:00 - 00:41:49:06
Speaker 1
And when you're doing things that mean so, so much close to your heart, I mean, I remember learning about what you guys were doing at the Super Bowl and that event, and I got chills, and I just got them again, because it's so important because and a lot of people don't know about human trafficking. I think the last number of years, it's been more talked about, but it is one of those things that needs to be talked about because it needs to.
00:41:49:07 - 00:42:08:18
Speaker 1
People need to understand that it happens, and there is a lot of trauma that happens to these kids, to the fact that you're taking them and saying, you know what, I see you, I hear you, I know you've been through the worst things that happen imaginable, things that you can even think of. These girls have been through so much, though.
00:42:09:00 - 00:42:33:20
Speaker 1
This particular it's called the Healing Center. It'll be in Las Vegas. it will be healing therapy, trauma based. it will give them everything that they need. they'll be able to feel safe again. Yes. they have a difficult time trusting others. it'll be just an amazing. And they'll be able to stay as long as they need to.
00:42:33:20 - 00:42:53:05
Speaker 1
Right. And in a sense, you know, you're giving them a safe place to heal. Yes. And protecting and then giving them the tools to be able to go out in the world and do something amazing. You know, if they don't have the safe place, they're going to go on with their traumas and not heal. And so the fact that you guys are seeing them and doing it and saying, I'm here to help you do the work, yes.
00:42:53:05 - 00:43:11:00
Speaker 1
To get you passed. Yes. So then you can be amazing humans and then go impact. And one thing that people don't know that human trafficking victims are from every single demographic. Yes, they can be from the bat. They can be straight A's students. They could be, from the other side of town, if you will. Right side. It doesn't matter.
00:43:11:00 - 00:43:33:06
Speaker 1
Within minutes, your child could be hit in traffic. The the the highest rate is a 12 year old females. And they're within an hour. They're in a place that they've never seen before. Their cell phones. You take it away, they don't know where they're at. And, and they are put into a system. there was this one girl that I met.
00:43:33:08 - 00:43:57:20
Speaker 1
She had a very violent, Cuban trafficker. And he basically said, you know, after two years, I'm kind of done with you. And he sold her to another human trafficker for a car. He traded her for a car. And then when when she went to the new human traffickers. Because you know what? She's useless to me. I want my car back.
00:43:57:22 - 00:44:20:12
Speaker 1
And she goes, all I want to do is please don't take me to the desert. Please take me to a hospital. And so he took her to a hospital, and they found out that she had 27 broken bones and a spleen, and within hours she would have been dead. Oh my God, for three months in ICU. And she's still recovering, but she's one of our girls.
00:44:20:12 - 00:44:49:15
Speaker 1
She's one of our champions. and she's willing to tell the story on, the very violent and and the things that these girls are going through. Right. And we are here to represent them. And every single woman in here. No, we all have children. We all want to protect them. And, so we're are just so empowered by you and off the field, the wives of off the field, they're just doing amazing things through.
00:44:49:17 - 00:45:11:09
Speaker 1
Yes. So where can people find you if someone's like, you know, I want to get involved. I want to be able to donate. Where can they find you? You want to get involved, go to political thought. and, we're very well connected with, with the Las Vegas Raiders. They are huge supporters of. That's wonderful. So court I know nobody knows how to stop like I know I'm dyslexic so I do not know.
00:45:11:12 - 00:45:40:02
Speaker 1
so I'm talking even just doing it. I took me a month back. But it's a great organization. We we are a pure organization in Fresno. Sure. I am 80 and IK0 wow okay. Dot org perfect. I know you have a couple lines which we started in Covid to help raise funds for the organization. So bullet kickoff wines.com.
00:45:40:04 - 00:46:03:08
Speaker 1
beautiful delicious California wines. Oh wonderful. Yes. Oh thank you Angela so much. So nice to see you again. Thank you for joining. Minus five for ten. Thank you. And thank you. And support off the field. Welcome back to Wines Live with Annabelle threat I'm here with Stephanie. Just actually as she was walking by telepathy. And I said you need to jump on the podcast because I want to know about what you're doing.
00:46:03:10 - 00:46:26:20
Speaker 1
And what does that mean to you? Yeah, absolutely. Thank you for, for having me. Yeah. You. Right? Yeah. Well, I'm a hostess today, and I just it really, I feel like, brings out the community pride to be a part. Hanson. And just such an amazing event. I feel like we're so fortunate to have the Football Hall of Fame right here locally in our backyard.
00:46:26:20 - 00:46:46:06
Speaker 1
And I just love it. And I love that I can be a part of it. And whatever way is needed. And yeah, this is a great, great thing to be part of. How did you get involved? so I'm a chamber member through work. Okay. And I was that a chamber of events? And they needed a volunteer. So I said, okay, sounds like to help students.
00:46:46:06 - 00:47:04:23
Speaker 1
Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, one of the things that I say about getting, I mean, even driving into canton, you can feel the love of this event and then every single person is seriously, like, happy, happy to be here, happy doing what they're doing, proud of their, you know, I mean, their city proud to be part of this.
00:47:05:01 - 00:47:24:00
Speaker 1
And I just, you know, I thank you for joining why that's why within about there. Welcome back to Wine Live with NFL threat here at the Hall of Fame Waterloo 21 seeds and a very special guys and this could be a little emotional I'm going to say. But that's okay. So can you please introduce yourself. Yes. Hi I'm Deborah Middle.
00:47:24:01 - 00:47:43:02
Speaker 1
I am the widow of Hall of Famer, my little class of 2010. Thank you. Thank you for joining. And I know I'm going to take it. And you and Cynthia were just having a conversation. Yes. And something came about it because it's really important to check on people. Absolutely. Right. So can you take this a little bit where where you are today.
00:47:43:06 - 00:48:05:09
Speaker 1
All righty. So, is number 44 with Syracuse University and a Denver Broncos. And he passed away on January the 1st of 2010. And so, of course, I went into this deep, dark black hole and trying to figure out what happens in my life next. Right? So just sitting still and being quiet like, you're good to work, open your hands and get to work because there are many who need.
00:48:05:11 - 00:48:27:16
Speaker 1
And so I started Foundation 44 The Legacy of Floyd Lotto, A501 C3. We have four different programs. Gascoigne's birthday is the 4th of July and his number was 44. Yeah, so we have four programs. Exactly, exactly. Everything will be done and enforced, and everything will be done in the memory of my legacy. Floyd Lovell one of our programs is called The Legacy of Our Legends.
00:48:27:18 - 00:48:51:01
Speaker 1
It's a program where we are reengaging with us, starting very small with just with the Hall of Fame, with us and helping them to get visible again and let their voices be heard while they talk about their legends, really is so easy to forget about. And right. They're no longer physically here, but the widows have this hole in their hearts and we know what we went through.
00:48:51:01 - 00:49:11:16
Speaker 1
We were with them so a legacy of our legends will be engaging with those and getting them back out there, serving on panels and doing speaking engagements and making appearances, talking about their legends and their stories. Connect us. But where can people find you? So that's one of the first things. We'll hold on once that's.
00:49:11:18 - 00:49:27:06
Unknown
Yes, it's very funny. And if y'all want to hear it, you know, you know, if you've heard it, you drop it off on the outside of the hotel. Okay.
00:49:27:08 - 00:49:53:12
Speaker 1
Oh, wonderful. Yes, yes. Where can they find you? They can find me at Foundation 44.org. it's a website to the foundation. There's information on all four of our programs. The most important one right now for me here at the Hall of Fame is for the widows. Because there are widows who are, 70s and 80s, and they're suffering in silence because they're too proud to anyone know what they're dealing with.
00:49:53:12 - 00:50:11:16
Speaker 1
And you know what? I think one of the beautiful thing that you're doing. But as you just said, generational right. Men don't talk about being sad when they. But we need to start. We we need to continue talking about these things. Because when you talk and you connect to someone and you know that someone else understands you when you start healing, right?
00:50:11:16 - 00:50:27:02
Speaker 1
So that you're doing that is such a beautiful thing. And, you know, thank you for joining us live with NFL thread. And we'll bring you more of this. I mean, because I know you and Cynthia, I just I could see you guys little wheels turning in your heads. Yeah. And you guys are going to be doing some some things for the widows.
00:50:27:02 - 00:50:49:04
Speaker 1
Yes. And for the, you know, the husbands that are also after you get your feet around the ground, this is working. Let's get to the next thing. And just continuing to spread that. Yes. Absolutely. Right. It's just so incredibly important because we are a family. Yeah. And you take care of your family. And when you start forgetting about your family and you leave them behind and then the next thing you know, they're not here, it's like, oh my goodness, did you hear.
00:50:49:05 - 00:51:06:21
Speaker 1
Yeah. Well you shouldn't have to hear. You should already know because you've been talking to them. So it's time to wake up and reach out and talk to your sisters, and see how they're doing. And when you hear them being private about what's happening, dig a little deeper. And even if they don't tell you, send them some love.
00:51:07:03 - 00:51:28:03
Speaker 1
Send them some, send them some flowers or a meal, or just call on them more regularly until they feel comfortable with sharing what they're doing. So I actually have I've had this conversation on a number of my podcast, and one is about reaching out and someone doesn't reach back to you. Sometimes if someone's not confident in themselves, they feel, oh, why aren't they reaching back out to me?
00:51:28:03 - 00:51:46:09
Speaker 1
But you don't know what that person's going through. So maybe continue, right? Send them a text message. Give them a call. Hey, I'm thinking of you. How are you doing? It's very simple. And more people need to do it. So thank you for spending. Thank you so much for allowing me this opportunity to talk in just a little bit about what's going on in our family.
00:51:46:09 - 00:52:02:15
Speaker 1
Yes. Thank you so much. So good to see you. So welcome back to Ryan is Live with NFL thread. Here I am Juliet Hein and I have an awesome guest. So excited I and I love the polka dots. it's coming back. It is coming back. Very excited about that I and I already like love you from your energy and all that.
00:52:02:15 - 00:52:22:22
Speaker 1
So like, I would love for you to introduce yourself. I know, Sean, tell me a little bit more. My name is Chantelle. I am currently, dating Walter Jones, and, he is obviously Darth Vader is who he is. Yeah. So Walter Jones, is retired. This is his, actually, this year for the in the House, his 10th year induction.
00:52:22:22 - 00:52:48:23
Speaker 1
Okay. So 2014 was when he was inducted, the whole thing. And, so, yeah, I'm here supporting him for ten years and hang out with these lovely ladies. And how does it feel? I mean, how does it feel? It's amazing. I was just telling somebody, this is my first time honestly being here. I know no one. Right. And, being in this room watching these women talk and chitter chatter and and friendly and everyone has been so welcoming and kind and it's been amazing.
00:52:49:01 - 00:53:03:00
Speaker 1
And that's the thing, sometimes it is people from the outside are like, oh, that has to be catty. This has been, I say all the time. I'm like, it is one of the nice, that group of humans for sure. And they're so welcoming and they love and they respect and it's just you put out what you got right?
00:53:03:05 - 00:53:29:10
Speaker 1
So like you came in here being like probably a little nervous, right? Absolutely. Yeah. Which is understandable. And then it's like, okay, I can be open and I can talk to people. Absolutely. So tell us about 44. I mean, no, not 96, 96 I know that. Yeah. So 96 check. So Walter Jones, his, class meet 99 classmate because, Cortez Kennedy was a player with Walter Jones, and, Cortez and Walter were very good friends.
00:53:29:10 - 00:53:47:21
Speaker 1
And four guys passed away unexpectedly. And his number for the Seahawks was 96. Yes. So Walter came up with this initiative to do a 96 check on September the 6th. Call and check. We call it check connect in there. So just call and check on the people. Like make sure your mental health is okay, is really doing good.
00:53:47:21 - 00:54:05:18
Speaker 1
And how are you? It's just kind of like a day to remember in your head 96 to call, connect and chat. That's really what we're looking for. you know, and and that could be anybody from, you know, a classmate, a teammate, a wife, like anybody. Your friends, your mom, your dad, like anybody. And it's so important.
00:54:05:18 - 00:54:23:18
Speaker 1
And we were just talking about this with the guys before. It's important to check. And sometimes people will send something out, like a text, and they don't hear back, and they're like, oh, why? They're busy. No, but take it again. Check in for sure. I love that you're working with him to do that. And so many people suffer for some sort of mental health and they don't know.
00:54:23:18 - 00:54:41:07
Speaker 1
People don't know about it. And and they struggle. And there's so many people out there are people, your friends, your family, if you just let them know that something you need help or you need whatever, you know, just 96 chat call, connect and check. That's what we're looking for I love it I and that's on on 9th September.
00:54:41:07 - 00:54:54:04
Speaker 1
The sex is when we promote that. But you know do it all the time. All the time, all the time I, I look for it on the sixth of every month is what I do. I set my calendar and I'm like, okay, the six and so on. On my phone, it rings on the six alarm. Say, who are you going to check on today?
00:54:54:07 - 00:55:10:08
Speaker 1
Like on the sixth? So I love every month. Well, thank you so much for all right. Welcome. Welcome back to win is live with NFL threat here live at the Hall of Fame special guests Monique Brown. How are you? I'm so you gotta put this up a little bit further. Thank you Julia. And I love this outfit. Thank you.
00:55:10:08 - 00:55:30:10
Speaker 1
I was just saying to someone else, coconuts are 100% Reebok, and they are good. It's my first time I'm walking in the show this year, so I'm pretty excited about that. Yes. Nice. Okay, so you were just sharing with me your husband? Yeah, my husband was, NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown, activist, actor, athlete. Just an incredible human being.
00:55:30:10 - 00:55:53:16
Speaker 1
And, I'm here, as you know, supporting the hall. That's always a great community of family and support. Yeah. And, and great causes, so. Right, right. And it's. And this is like, as I said to everyone, it's a wonderful like, you feel the energy you kind of drive into can. Yeah. It's like, and then everyone is so nice and welcoming and, and all the ladies like, you guys are all you could feel the energy.
00:55:53:16 - 00:56:11:06
Speaker 1
You can see, like the excitement. Everyone has to see each other. And it's really this amazing community. It's like a family reunion every year. Yeah, it really is. And I'm sure you like, like, look forward to it. And it's like too. Right. And it's yeah, it's different this year. last year we did a tribute to Jim Ethic at the house, which was incredible.
00:56:11:06 - 00:56:27:12
Speaker 1
It was so beautiful. And people are still talking about it. It was. Yeah. this year it's really, you know, it's it's it's it's bittersweet, but it is still so sweet. Right. But I mean, how is I'm not you don't you don't have to share this in doing this. But how is your mindset, you know, coming this year.
00:56:27:13 - 00:56:49:17
Speaker 1
Oh it's it's great. It's great. I mean, just everyone just texted me, are you going to be here or are you going to be here? It's such a supportive community and we're unique. It's a unique group of women who share the same experience. And so I think even more, I'm thinking we should definitely start to plan. My wheels are spinning on how we can do more, have to have additional gatherings.
00:56:49:21 - 00:57:08:19
Speaker 1
Right. Because it is important. And as you said, like the understanding in so many things in any, any form of life that you're in. Yeah. When you have people that understand it, you're, you know, experiences are always going to be different. But there is an understanding that is beautiful and you have the understanding with the women, you know, because of the NFL.
00:57:08:19 - 00:57:32:16
Speaker 1
But then also having, you know, gone through what we have gone through with your husband and it's like you can just get each other right. Sometimes you can just give the look and it's like they get me. Absolutely. They know the questions. They know the the they they understand the landscape. My position in public and private, you know, with our families, the pressures our children may have being the son and daughters of iconic figures.
00:57:32:16 - 00:57:47:19
Speaker 1
And there's a lot of nuances that we share. And so, no, it's great. Right? Yeah. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. Really appreciate. Yes. And I look forward to seeing you and seeing what, you know more that you do. Yes. There's a lot I and I love that if you share any I know not.
00:57:47:20 - 00:58:10:09
Speaker 1
Well, I run an organization called American. We teach life management skills to youth that are incarcerated. And we also have done a lot of work with both NFL and, and adults. So, and where can people find that? I mean, that's really important. It's American dawg and American has a hyphen. I is hyphenated. So okay, I can oh I love that.
00:58:10:09 - 00:58:29:06
Speaker 1
Yeah. It's about changing the mindset from one of self-doubt to self-determination. So we've been working for over 28 years. That's how Jim and I met and, very proud of our work. We serve a great deal of of community members throughout the last 28 years. Right. Well, thank you so thanks for joining us live. And thank you for having me.
00:58:29:06 - 00:58:29:19
Speaker 1
